  1. You are an awesome teacher, Austin! In our group lessons you cater to address each indivuduals needs and help everyone improve at their own speed. You have great patience… Thank you!

  2. Almost there and getting ready for a performance. Feel like a pro.already.Ofcourse I do have a long way to go.I will not forget the excuses I made and then ending up with the AUSTIN JONES syndrome. :) It was such a beautiful experience and I am honestly not ready to end this class. Being on a guitar for the first time and then trying to get the chords together and with all the callouses to deal with was Worth all the effort. I appreciate all your hard work and for taking time in teaching ME..particularly ME.:).Let me tell you this honestly whenever I get the instinct to choose a particular instructor , I go for it 100%. And those instincts have never failed me. I love the way you teach and I love your dedication to your work…except do not put me in the jeopardy seat!!
Thank-you very very very much. May God bless you abundantly in your work and help you in every step of the way. Please do say Thank-you to your wife who bore with us thus far.

  3. Hi Austin,

I do not know where to begin to Thank-you. But here I go. Being a solid beginner player I was not sure if I would complete the class. But here I am almost at tje

  4. Hey Austin,

I just wanted to say my brother, Preston, and I have had a GREAT time learning to play the guitar in your Guitar 101 class, the group Adult Beginner Guitar lessons.

As you know, my brother and I have since the 1960′s always wanted to play the guitar and now that we are actually in our 60′s with arthritis, stiff joints, etc. we thought we had missed “the window” to learn to play the guitar but you and your lessons have proved us wrong!

Not only are you a talented, gifted guitar player but your attention to each of us in the class, your dedication to our progress and learning, and your faith combine to make this a unique experience for us.

I don’t know if many “older” wannabe guitar players will be reading this but I would tell them that it is never too late to learn, your stiff arthritic fingers CAN play the guitar, and especially if you are retired – “What else are you going to do with your free time? Go ahead. Take the lessons and fulfill those dreams of your younger years!” I did and am glad I did. I look forward to continuing lessons and learning more from you.

I can echo your words when I say that learning to play the guitar has brought a lot of enjoyment to my later years and on a personal basis it has been the catalyst for my brother and I to bond in a way that would not have been possible without your lessons being available to us and accommodating our schedules. Not only can my brother and I practice together but we now have dreams of playing at venues like the little coffee houses where we first heard the blues, folk and rock ‘n roll when we were younger in college……… many years ago!

Even though we are just finishing the first beginner’s lesson, now, after only a few weeks, I have been able to look at songs not taught in the class and figure out how to play them from the skills you have taught us in class.

I really appreciate your kind and generous time, energy and approach to teaching. I believe it is important to know that a teacher not only teaches but also performs and since you do both – you’re a natural!

Thanks again Austin, AND please keep us posted of your upcoming gigs like the other Friday night when we went to see you play at Mainly Drinks…….we had a great time listening to you while enjoying a great dinner!
    Thanks.

    All the Best,

    Rob

    • Rob you just totally made my entire month! Thank you for reminding me why do this! I’m very very glad to have you and Preston both in this group you guys made it really is remarkable!

  5. hi I have a grandson interested in guitar lessons. He attends school in Deerpark. please call me @ 9523340154. Thank you Austin

  6. Austin – can you please give me a call? 832-233-5535 – I’m interested in having my nieces son, Gavin Connor learn how to play the guitar. Gavin is a very bright young man and is interested in learning how to play, but he’s going to need a lot of structure and motivation. I will be paying the bill each month, so I want to make sure he’s working hard and doing his best…………

Here are the things I would like to discuss when you call me –

    1. Can I do a month to month contract with you?
    2. How long does it take to learn the basics?
    3. Teach me about practice schedules?
    4. Are the lessons tied to any performances for family members?
    5. What questions should I be asking you?

Once, I hear from you, discuss the issues, learn the price of the lessons and how you will structure everything, I will register and pay the bill.

    All the best,

    Crockett DuBose
